Bill to Benefit IB Certificate and Diploma Graduates

Mr. Asheesh Misra, former Marshall IB co-coordinator, current IB coordinator at George Mason HS, and president-elect of the Mid-Atlantic Association of IB World Schools, is requesting parents to contact Senator Janet Howell and Senator Richard Saslaw (from our area, both are on the Senate Education and Health Committee) to urge them to support the VA Senate Bill 209, which states "each institution of higher education shall have policies for course credit for standard and higher level International Baccalaureate courses that are comparable to its policies for granting course credit for Advanced Placement courses."

Misra spoke in front of the VA subcommittee on Higher Education yesterday, January 21, 2010.

Please see the letter and contact information for more detailed info regarding this issue.

ALL NIGHT GRADUATION CELEBRATION FUNDRAISER

FEED ME!

piggy bank

Got loose coins? Is your pocket or purse too heavy? Do your drawers need to be cleaned out? Found coins on the ground? Why don’t you drop them in our giant piggy bank (at the front office) and support the safe, drug and alcohol-free 2010 All Night Grad Celebration? The bank measures about 12" x 12" x 15", so let's get to filling it up!

Fairfax County has not had one alcohol or drug-related fatality on graduation night since 1987, when local high schools and our community sponsors created this event.

Thank you so much for your contributions and support!
