Agreement Between User and GCM PTSA
The GCM PTSA Web Site is comprised of various Web pages operated by GCM PTSA.
The GCM PTSA Web Site is offered to you conditioned on your acceptance without modification of the terms, conditions, and notices contained herein. Your use of the GCM PTSA Web Site constitutes your agreement to all such terms, conditions, and notices.
GCM PTSA reserves the right to change the terms, conditions, and notices under which the GCM PTSA Web Site is offered, including but not limited to the charges associated with the use of the GCM PTSA Web Site.
Links to Third Party Sites
The GCM PTSA Web Site may contain links to other Web Sites (“Linked Sites”). The Linked Sites are not under the control of GCM PTSA and GCM PTSA is not responsible for the contents of any Linked Site, including without limitation any link contained in a Linked Site, or any changes or updates to a Linked Site. GCM PTSA is not responsible for webcasting or any other form of transmission received from any Linked Site. No Unlawful or Prohibited Use
As a condition of your use of the GCM PTSA Web Site, you warrant to GCM PTSAA that you will not use the GCM PTSA Web Site for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these terms, conditions, and notices. - Download any file posted by another user of a Communication Service that you know, or reasonably should know, cannot be legally distributed in such manner.
- Falsify or delete any author attributions, legal or other proper notices or proprietary designations or labels of the origin or source of software or other material contained in a file that is uploaded.
- Restrict or inhibit any other user from using and enjoying the Communication Services.
- Violate any code of conduct or other guidelines which may be applicable for any particular Communication Service.
- Harvest or otherwise collect information about others, including e-mail addresses, without their consent.
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations.
GCM PTSA has no obligation to monitor the Communication Services. However, GCM PTSA reserves the right to review materials posted to a Communication Service and to remove any materials in its sole discretion. GCM PTSA reserves the right to terminate your access to any or all of the Communication Services at any time without notice for any reason whatsoever.
GCM PTSA reserves the right at all times to disclose any information as necessary to satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process or governmental request, or to edit, refuse to post or to remove any information or materials, in whole or in part, in GCM PTSA’s sole discretion.
Always use caution when giving out any personally identifying information about yourself or your children in any Communication Service. GCM PTSA does not control or endorse the content, messages or information found in any Communication Service and, therefore, GCM PTSA specifically disclaims any liability with regard to the Communication Services and any actions resulting from your participation in any Communication Service. Managers and hosts are not authorized GCM PTSA spokespersons, and their views do not necessarily reflect those of GCM PTSA.
Materials uploaded to a Communication Service may be subject to posted limitations on usage, reproduction and/or dissemination. You are responsible for adhering to such limitations if you download the materials.
Materials Provided to GCM PTSA or Posted at Any GCM PTSA Web Site
GCM PTSA does not claim ownership of the materials you provide to GCM PTSA (including feedback and suggestions) or post, upload, input or submit to any GCM PTSA Web Site or its associated services (collectively “Submissions”). Information PTA Collects
When you apply for membership, GCM PTSA asks for basic information, such as your name, street address, and e-mail address. Your participation in GCM PTSA activities and member services also is tracked to help GCM PTSA better understand member interests and evaluate the effectiveness of our offerings. GCM PTSA also collects demographic information from other sources to learn more about member characteristics and needs. As explained in the Questions and Answers below, GCM PTSA may ask for additional information when you visit http://www.gcmptsa.org/. All of this information helps GCM PTSA better serve members and improve programs.
GCM PTSA does not sell or rent member information to telemarketers, mailing list brokers, or other companies. Sponsors and member benefits providers do receive limited and restricted opportunities to communicate to our members; however, all mailings are reviewed and approved by GCM PTSA and sent through a 3rd party mail house, which is required to sign a confidentiality statement that the lists will be used for a one-time mailing and cannot be shared with anyone. Our sponsors and member benefit providers never see the list or have direct access to it. GCM PTSA does not allow sponsors to solicit members under the age of 18, when designated as such. GCM PTSA may also disclose member information when required to do so by law or when such action is necessary or appropriate to comply with legal process served on the national organization, to protect and defend the rights or property of GCM PTSA, or to protect the personal safety of users of the GCM PTSA website. The GCM PTSA website does not contain any significantly sensitive information, and does not process any membership, donation, or other e-commerce transactions at http://www.gcmptsa.org, so no specific encryption, access control or other e-commerce related security procedures or controls are needed. All e-commerce transactions are conducted outside of the GCM PTSA website (e.g., https://www.pay4schoolstuff.com). GCM PTSA does take reasonable precautions against misuse of the website through access control procedures, website security features, network firewalls, physical security, and other safety measures.
GCM PTSA does provide a student directory with names, addresses, phone numbers and parent name and contact information. This information, while somewhat sensitive, is not deemed to require extraordinary security procedures. Therefore access to the student directory is secured with a simple password and is not encrypted or otherwise protected. Users with access to this password-protected content should take reasonable precautions against allowing this information to be distributed beyond the immediate family and friends of GCM PTSA and/or GCM High School.

Privacy and GCM PTSA: Questions and Answers
1. Do I have to submit any personal information in order to use
No. You do not need to give GCM PTSA any information about yourself in order to access most of http://www.gcmptsa.org. You can visit most web pages, read our publications, and learn about our member services on a completely anonymous basis. Certain leadership content and member benefits do require a password provided to you with your PTA membership.
If you want to take advantage of optional services available on http://www.gcnptsa.org, GCM PTSA may request information to identify you. For example, if you use online forms to join the GCM PTSA, renew your GCM PTSA membership, or volunteer for service to the GCM PTSA and/or Marshall High School, certain information is required to process your application, such as your name, phone number, mailing address, e-mail address, and credit card number (although your credit card information is handled by our secure provider, https://www.pay4schoolstuff.com). GCM PTSA may also ask for personal information when you participate in other activities or services on “http://www.gcmptsa.org, such as surveys, polls, bulletin boards, and participatory programs, such as the All Night Grad, Beautification, or other Committees.
GCM PTSA also has relationships with certain providers and vendors to offer services and benefits to you on linked websites. On any of these sites, you may be asked to enter personal information in order to take advantage of their services or programs. If you decide to purchase services on the website of a GCM PTSA member benefits service provider, the contracted member benefits provider offering the services may ask for your name, member number, address, and e-mail address in order to deliver the services requested or contact you about the services.
These related sites may also have their own unique privacy policies that you should review.
2. Does http://www.pta.org/ collect non-personal information, using “cookies” or otherwise?
Yes. GCM PTSA does collect “non-personal information” that does not identify your name, e-mail address, or other personal characteristics. Non-personal information includes the number assigned to your computer whenever you access the Internet (“IP address”), and the type of browser you use. None of this non-personal information allows GCM PTSA to identify or contact you. By gathering this information, GCM PTSA learns, among other things, how many people visit http://www.gcmptsa.org, popular web pages, and where visitors were on other websites before arriving at http://www.gcmptsa.org. GCM PTSA may also assign a “cookie” to your computer in some situations. Like an IP address, a cookie allows GCM PTSA to recognize your computer each time you visit http://www.gcmptsa.org.
3. How is my information used?
GCM PTSA collects personal and non-personal information to serve members. GCM PTSA uses member information to evaluate and improve services and offerings. GCM PTSA asks for information to process your membership application, send you valuable resources and timely news and information about your membership and the organization, and provide you with discounts and other member benefits.
GCM PTSA stores your membership information in secured computer files. GCM PTSA uses this information to service your membership account and answer your questions. GCM PTSA may also review demographic information, survey results, and statistical analyses of http://www.gcmptsa.org usage to help evaluate, modify, and develop services of interest to GCM PTSA members.

You will receive newsletters, publications, and special e-mails sent on behalf of GCM PTSA sponsors. GCM PTSA offers these resources to help you take full advantage of your membership. However, you do have a choice to continue subscriptions to any GCM PTSA newsletter, publication, e-mails, service or offer. You may unsubscribe or “opt out” at any time. Please use the guide below.
If you do not want to receive electronic communications or mailings from GCM PTSA:

In particular, all emails sent via Constant Contact contain a handy unsubscribe link on every email.
Again, these notices are designed to help you take full advantage of the benefits of GCM PTSA membership, but we do not want to send them to you if you are not interested in receiving them.
6. Do privacy protections exist on GCM PTSA lists?
It is important to understand that the information you submit in discussion/GCM PTSA list groups, bulletin boards, and chat rooms is publicly displayed. People will see your messages and organizations not related to GCM PTSA, and may be used by these third parties to contact you. As a result, you should be very careful about the information that you include in these messages. Because these unrelated parties will also see your “User Name” on any postings that you make in the discussion groups, you may not want to use your full name. You can use your first name only, or use an assumed name, if you like.
