UPCOMING EVENTS!

Final Exams: June 5 through June 12th

Senior Trip: June 14th

June 15th: First mandatory graduation rehearsal 8:30 a.m.
Students must be at school by 8:30 a.m.when the rehearsal begins. After the rehearsal ends, students will be given their cap and gown and tickets for the ceremony at DAR. If your student does not receive their cap and gown, it means they still have an outstanding obligation such as a fee or book that has not been turned in. They will be informed about what is missing. Students will also be given their ANGC t-shirts and information packets. After rehearsal, seniors are excused.

 June 16th: Graduation rehearsal8:30 a.m. Senior Awards Ceremony9:30 a.m.
  Students wear cap and gowns.
This is a whole-school event, so there is not much space for parents to attend. If your child is going to receive an award, you will be notified so that you have the option to attend. After the assembly, there will be a reception.

June 19th
Final Graduation Rehearsal
8:30 a.m.

June 19th
Baccalaureate
7:00 p.m.
Our Lady of Good Counsel Church
Vienna, VA
Students who attend should wear their caps and gowns. This has nothing to do with IB. This is a very nice, non-denominational service where different faiths are represented and there are inspirational messages from some of the class of 2017 students, as well as musical selections from Marshall ensembles. Immediately following, there will be a dessert reception in the church’s hall with a photo booth so families can take photos. It is very difficult to capture graduates with their friends on graduation day so this is a “don’t miss photo” opportunity!

June 20th
GRADUATION DAY!
All students must arrive at GCM by 8:30 a.m. NO CELL PHONES or PURSES should be taken to DAR – please have a friend of someone in the family keep these items until after the ceremony.

All graduates will ride buses together to DAR on the morning of graduation. Graduates do not need bus tickets. When the ceremony is over, your graduate may ride the bus back to GCM or may leave with you.

The doors to Constitution Hall will open at 10:00 a.m. and will be locked promptly at 11:30 a.m. until the completion of the National Anthem when they will once again be open.

The ceremony will last approximately two hours.

Update on All Night Grad Celebration!

Monday, April 3rd, 2017 by WebAdmin
ANGC is a huge celebration that will be held at the McLean Sport & Health facility beginning the evening after graduation on June 20, 2017and into the next morning. This event is designed to give our seniors a safe way to celebrate on graduation night. Here are a few of the ways you can support this event that takes a tremendous amount of fund raising and planning.
Parents of 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th Graders
  • Dine Out Fundraiser on April 4th and 5th at The Pure Pasty Co., 128 Church St NW, Vienna. Fill your freezer with savory English meat pies for a great cause! Open 11am to 6:30pm. After you place your order, ask to have your receipt placed in the box.
  • Take a chance on earning $5,000 for college tuition with ANGC’s TUITION RAFFLE – Purchase a chance to win a $5000 scholarship for only $50. See the FLYER for information. You do not have to be a parent of a Senior to participate and the money is good for any private school (including preschools) or school of higher education.
Parents of Seniors
  • ANGC REGISTRATION – Please register your Senior for ANGC via Pay4SchoolStuff, or by filling out the FORM and sending it to GCM HS ANGC, 7731 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church, VA 22043 or using the form sent in the senior class mailing – see below.
